An interleague series begins Friday night when the Los Angeles Angels (14-12, 6-7 away) visit the Milwaukee Brewers (16-9, 7-5 home). It’s early, but the Angels are third in the AL West, half a game back of first, and Milwaukee is second in the NL Central, 1.5 games back of first. Below is my MLB pick for the Angels vs Brewers.

Los Angeles Angels Sticking Around .500

Los Angeles took advantage of a favorable early week schedule and won three of four games against the Oakland Athletics. The series started off with a tough 11-10 extra inning loss, but that was the Angles only blemish of the week. Los Angeles evened the series up with a 5-3 win on Tuesday and won 11-3 on Wednesday. The series ended with a near Shohei Ohtani cycle, and an 8-7 win for the Angels.

Tyler Anderson will make his fifth start of the season and he will look to improve on his 7.20 ERA and 1.70 WHIP.

Hunter Renfroe is off to a great start, and he leads the Angels with seven home runs and 20 RBIs. Mike Trout is leading the way with a .305 batting average.

The Milwaukee Brewers Look Elite

Milwaukee has had a great start to the season, but they had a tough early week where they lost two of three games to the very bad Detroit Tigers. The Brewers lost the first game 4-2 and dropped the second 4-3. Milwaukee avoided the sweep with a 6-2 victory in the series finale.

Wade Miley is heading to the mound for the fifth time this season and he will look to build off his strong start that has him with a 1.96 ERA and 0.96 WHIP.

Brian Anderson has had a nice start to the year, and he leads the Brewers with a .276 batting average and 20 RBIs. Rowdy Tellez has mashed a team high eight home runs.
