The Western Conference Finals get started on Saturday night at the United Center in NHL betting action, and this is the matchup that we have all been waiting for. The last two Western Conference winners will meet, as the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Los Angeles Kings.

Many think that the Blackhawks are going to be in worse shape in this game in terms of the scheduling, but we aren’t all that sure that they are the team that has the most to worry about. The Kings didn’t find out until Wednesday night that they had to fly to the Windy City for Game 1 of this series. They had to fly out on Thursday, get one day to prepare, and now they have to play two games in two days against the Presidents’ Trophy winners. Of course, the king of the Kings is G Jonathan Quick, who continues to be one of the most dominating players on the face of the earth. He would be the Conn Smythe Trophy winner by a country mile if the postseason ended today, and he is the man that is going to have to win the Stanley Cup single-handedly if LA is going to do it. C Mike Richards has 10 points here in the playoffs, while C Jeff Carter leads the team with five goals.

Things are looking up again for the Blackhawks. They looked to be dead in the water just a week ago when they were down to the Detroit Red Wings 3-1, but they were able to get the job done, winning three straight games to ultimately capture the series in an epic seven games. Chicago has been a wildly inconsistent team in these playoffs as we see it. G Corey Crawford has a 1.70 GAA, but he has been up and down, especially in this most recent series. Offensively, one would figure that a team that had two players score more points than they played games, would have a little more going on offensively in the playoffs. LW Patrick Sharp and RW Marian Hossa have been the two best scorers on the team in the second season for the Blackhawks, and they have only tallied 11 points. The two do have 12 goals in 12 games between them, but they sort of went MIA at times in the Red Wings series.

That’s why we’re a bit surprised that the Kings are the heavy underdogs in this game. We think that they are going to find a way to take at least one of these two games in the Windy City. Whereas Chicago is going to have to win this series as a team, LA can win this game with just one man. Quick will win at least one of these games all by himself.
