Each week on BangTheBook Radio, we bring you tremendous MLB betting content. However, that’s not all we do. The “Tuesday Takeover” show is designed to bring a different voice on to the program with host Adam Burke to chat with us about what’s going on in the other sports. This week, we were very fortunate to bring the great Keeneland Dan from FatBaldGuyRacing.com to break down the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby.
We had Dan on last year for the Triple Crown races and his insight was outstanding, so it only made sense to go back to him again this year for the Run for the Roses. Post positions haven’t been drawn yet and those will have a bit of an impact, but Dan had a lot of good thoughts to get horse players in position to be ready with those early lines.
Before looking specifically at this weekend’s events at Churchill Downs, Adam and Dan talked about some general horse handicapping strategies, with starting points for those that are new to the game and some betting philosophies for those that may be working with smaller bankrolls. Throughout the segment, the guys talked about the importance of trainers and jockeys, as well as the influx of uneducated public money for what basically equates to the Super Bowl, but with horse racing.
Dan talked about his favorites and the horses that will show up on his tickets for the Kentucky Oaks, the race of three-year-old fillies on Friday night, and also for the Kentucky Derby on Saturday night. Terrific special offers are available over at FatBaldGuyRacing.com for this weekend and for races that happen throughout every week at tracks across the country, so please check them out and support some good friends of the show.
Join us on Thursday for another edition of The Bettor’s Box, BangTheBook Radio’s MLB betting podcast.
