Week 15 of the 2021 NFL season kicks off with Thursday Night Football from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, so we bring you the best Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers betting pick and odds along with the latest team stats, news, and betting trends.

The Chiefs take on the Chargers for the second time this season, opening as 3-point road favorites on MyBookie Sportsbook. Los Angeles is a +140 moneyline underdog, while the totals sit at 52.0 points. Back in Week 3, the Chargers outlasted the Chiefs as 7-point road dogs, 30-24.

Kansas City aims for its seventh straight W

The Kansas City Chiefs (9-4; 6-7 ATS) turned the corner with a 20-17 home win to the New York Giants in Week 8. Since then, the reigning NFL vice-champions have won five consecutive games, allowing only 48 points in the process.

Kansas City has yielded exactly nine points in each of its previous three outings (Dallas, Denver, and Las Vegas). The Chiefs’ defense has done a tremendous job after being a complete disaster through the first seven weeks of the season.

On the other side of the ball, the Chiefs have been pretty much hit-or-miss. After scoring 19 points against Dallas in Week 11 and 22 against Denver in Week 13, the Chiefs trounced Las Vegas 48-9 this past Sunday. They dropped 35 first-half points on the Raiders, while Kansas City’s defense forced a whopping five turnovers.

The Chargers hope for their third consecutive victory

The Los Angeles Chargers improved to 8-5 SU and 7-6 ATS on the season following a comfortable 37-21 home win to the New York Giants in Week 14. It was their second victory on the spin and third in the last four weeks, as the Chargers continue to challenge the Chiefs for the top spot in the AFC West.

Justin Herbert had a field day against the Giants, completing 23 of his 31 passing attempts for 275 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie wideout Joshua Palmer had five catches for 66 yards and a TD, while Austin Ekeler added 12 carries for 67 yards and a TD.

Keenan Allen didn’t play against New York due to COVID-19. He’s on track to suit up against the Chiefs, and Allen’s return would be a huge boost for the Chargers’ offense that is averaging 27.0 points per game (tied with Kansas City for the eighth-best in the NFL).

Trends:

Kansas City:

  • 4-1 ATS in the last five games overall
  • 4-1 ATS in the last five outings as favorites

LA Chargers:

  • 1-5 ATS in the last six games against the AFC
  • 1-7 ATS in the last eight home games against the Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers Pick

The Chargers are looking for their third straight win over Kansas City, and I’m expecting the Chiefs to bounce back. Kansas City’s defense resurrected midway through the season, while the Chiefs’ offense should have enough firepower to deal with the Chargers’ leaky D.

Los Angeles surrenders the second-most rushing yards per game in the NFL (140.7). The Chiefs will look to exploit LA’s run D and open a lot of space for their passing game. On the other side, the Chargers’ offensive line will be under huge pressure, as Kansas City’s front seven has been outstanding as of late.

Pick: Take Kansas City Chiefs -3.0 at -110

The Total:

The over is 5-2 in the Chargers’ last seven games overall, while the under is 6-2 in the Chiefs’ previous eight outings at any location. The previous two encounters between the Chiefs and Chargers have produced more than 52 points in total each, so I’ll take the over despite Kansas City’s excellent defensive performance.

The Chargers, on the other side, have allowed 20 or more points in nine straight outings. Six of their previous seven contests have surpassed a 50-point mark.

Pick: Go over 52.0 points at -110
