The Kansas City Chiefs were one of the top teams in the American Football League, winning league championships in 1962, 1966 and 1969. In 1966 and 1969, that league championship moved them to Super Bowls I and IV. They lost the first Super Bowl to the Green Bay Packers but then beat the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV; that win gave the AFL the legitimacy it needed for the NFL to agree to a merger.

Then it was a long 50 years before the Chiefs would make it back to the Super Bowl. However, the team won four AFC West titles between 1993 and 2003 and have won five division titles in a row. They became the first team to host three consecutive AFC Championships this year.

Can the Chiefs become the first team in 17 years to repeat as Super Bowl champions?

Super Bowl LV Preview: Kansas City Prop Bets

Will Kansas City Score a TD in the 1st Quarter? Yes +105 / No -155

Will Kansas City Score a TD in the 2nd Quarter? Yes -135 / No -105

Will Kansas City Score a TD in the 3rd Quarter? Yes -255 / No +170

Will Kansas City Score a TD in the 4th Quarter? Yes -155 / No +105

The Chiefs could score touchdowns in all four quarters, of course, but different quarters have different degrees of probability. Kansas City has tended to start slowly the past two seasons before amping up the pace and intensity on offense. With that in mind, it makes sense that the Chiefs would have the greatest likelihood of going the first 15 minutes without a touchdown (even though they hung 17 on the Bucs in the first quarterback in November).

Will Kansas City Convert a 4th Down? Yes -185 / No +125

The Chiefs go for it on fourth down all the time, whether they have the lead or not. They went for it twice in the Super Bowl last year. They went for it when they were trailing Buffalo in the AFC Championship. They went for it in the waning minutes of their divisional round win over Cleveland, causing color commentator Tony Romo to start screaming when backup quarterback Chad Henne dropped back to pass. Andy Reid trusts his offense, and they deliver.

When will Kansas City Score More Points? 1st half +110 / 2nd half+OT -160

Defenses don’t shut down Kansas City as the game winds on (although Cleveland was proving to be the exception, even before Mahomes went down with a concussion). Slow starters and fast finishers end up with money lines like this one. I see the scoring accelerating for both teams as the game goes by?
