We have some interesting matchups in Week 3 of the NFL season, and this conference battle is one of them, so make sure you don’t overlook the best Jaguars vs. Chargers betting pick and odds.

Jacksonville and Los Angeles are coming into Week 3 with a 1-1 record when they face at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. The Chargers are 7-point favorites on BookMaker Sportsbook, while the total is set at 47.5 points. These AFC rivals haven’t met since 2020, but the Chargers won each of the last nine H2H duels.

Jaguars shut the Colts down

The Jacksonville Jaguars extended their home winning streak over the Indianapolis Colts to eight after a perfect 24-0 win. The Jags limited the Colts to just nine first downs and 218 total yards, while they collected 331 on the other end and had 17 minutes more of possession in one of the best defensive displays of the early season.

Trevor Lawrence was reliable with the ball in his hands; he completed 25 of 30 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns. Christian Kirk was on the receiving end on both of Lawrence’s TD passes. Kirk got 78 yards on six receptions, while James Robinson rushed for 64 yards and a score on 23 carries. Linebacker Josh Allen tormented Indianapolis’ O-Line with two sacks, while the Jaguars totaled five opposite the Colts’ zero.

Chargers failed to beat the Chiefs despite better numbers on offense

The Los Angeles Chargers had a 17-7 lead against the divisional foes Kansas City Chiefs in the third quarter, but still lost the game 27-24 and dropped to a 1-1 record. Los Angeles totaled 401 yards opposite Kansas City’s 319 and had six first downs more than the hosts. However, that wasn’t enough to beat one of the Super Bowl contenders, but the Chargers will get a chance to return to winning ways against Jacksonville.

Justin Herbert was excellent as he completed 33 of 48 passes for three touchdowns and an interception. Mike Williams, who had 113 yards and a TD on eight receptions, led the offense and tried to compensate for a below-average run offense that totaled only 75 yards on 24 carries. Joshua Palmer and Zander Horvath also caught Herbert’s TD passes, while on defense, Derwin James Jr. and Drue Tranquill combined for 16 tackles.

Herbert is dealing with fractured rib cartilage, and his availability for Sunday’s game versus the Jaguars is in question. Keenan Allen was held out of the last contest with a hamstring injury, and it is uncertain if he will suit up for Sunday’s game versus the Jaguars.

Trends:

Jacksonville:

  • 2-8 ATS in the last ten games overall
  • 1-5 ATS in the last six games following an ATS win

Los Angeles:

  • 5-0 ATS in the last five games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game
  • 7-3 ATS in the last ten games following a straight-up loss

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Los Angeles Chargers Pick

I am not sure about Allen, but Herbert should be ready to go against the Jags and ready to cause havoc in their secondary. Jacksonville allowed 28 points to the Commanders, and I can only imagine what Herbert and the Chargers’ offense can do to them on Sunday. Put the Indianapolis game aside, the Jaguars don’t have the quality to face the AFC West teams, and the home side will prove that with a comfortable victory. Although the Chargers are not lethal on the ground, they can destroy any secondary, and I am backing them to torment Jacksonville in this one.

Pick: Take the Chargers at -6.5 (-125)

The Total

I do expect the Chargers’ offense to dominate and don’t allow many drives to the Jags on the field, but even if the hosts score 30+, I don’t think we will have a high-scoring affair. Jacksonville scored 22 and 24 points, respectively, in its first two games of the season, but the Jags scored 20+ in just two of the last nine H2H meetings, and I believe they will fire blanks on offense here. Under is 13-5 in the Jaguars’ last 18 games overall, while Under is 11-0 in the Chargers’ previous 11 games in September.

Pick: Go Under 47.5 points (-110)
