We aren’t quite ready to hit the panic button with the Heat quite yet, but we know that they are going to be in a heck of a lot of trouble here in this series without Chris Bosh in the fold. Even with Bosh for most of Game 1, the Pacers looked like they were going to be able to hang in this series. Without Bosh in Game 2, we might even dare say that the Pacers had the better team. Of course, LeBron James had his 28 points, nine boards, five assists, and six steals, and Dwyane Wade had his 24 points, six rebounds, and four assists, but in the end, someone else is going to have to step up to make this team go. Mario Chalmers shot just 2-of-10 from the floor, and no one aside from the “Super Friends” scored more than five points on the night. That just isn’t going to cut it to say the least. It isn’t that Bosh is out of the lineup. It’s that someone else has to come in and play those minutes that Bosh was putting in on a nightly basis.
All of a sudden, there is some life in Indiana, and with the Boston Celtics struggling as well on the other side of the Eastern Conference playoffs, there is a legit chance that the Pacers could get all the way to the NBA Finals this year. Of course, we are getting ahead of ourselves, especially knowing that there are still three more games to win against the mighty Heat to get the job done. However, confidence has to be growing in this team, especially after beating Miami on the glass 50-40 on Tuesday night to bring this series back to Bankers Life Fieldhouse level at a game apiece. George Hill and David West both had double-doubles, and Roy Hibbert came just two points shy of that double-double. The surprise is how well Indiana did with Danny Granger fouling out and accounting for just 11 points and six rebounds against four turnovers. Especially with Bosh out of the lineup, we know that the Pacers are going to continue to go to their big lineups, and it is clear now, that this is going to cause all sorts of problems for Miami.
Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers Game 3 Pick: Remember, the Heat weren’t all that great without Bosh in the fold in the regular season either. Has the recipe been formed to show how to beat the Heat? Don’t discount the idea! We think that the Pacers are going to take Game 3 of this series and put Miami in a world of hurt going into Game 4 over the weekend.
