The 2022 NBA Finals are heating up with Game 6 at TD Garden in Boston on Thursday, June 16, so we bring you the best Warriors vs. Celtics betting pick along with the latest team stats, news, and odds update.

Golden State is one step away from the championship following a 104-94 home victory in Game 5 this past Monday. The Warriors are 4-point road underdogs for Game 6, while the Celtics are listed as -165 moneyline favorites with a total of 210.0 points on MyBookie Sportsbook

The Warriors shoot for their third straight W

The Golden State Warriors have held the Celtics below a 100-point mark in the previous two games and will look to stay on the right path Thursday at TD Garden. After a 107-97 victory in Game 4 in Boston, the Dubs put on another defensive clinic in Game 5 and fully deserved their victory.

Last Monday, the Warriors surrendered only 20 points in the fourth quarter. They forced the Celtics into 18 turnovers and allowed their rivals to shoot only 41.3% from the field. On the other side of the ball, the Warriors made 46.6% of their field goals and committed a paltry seven turnovers.

After dropping 43 points on Boston in Game 4, Stephen Curry had 16 points and eight assists in Game 5. Andrew Wiggins led the way for Golden State on Monday, finishing with a 26-point, 13-rebound double-double, while Klay Thompson added 21 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field (5-for-11 from deep).

The Celtics have to be more physical

The Boston Celtics have to improve on both sides of the ball if they want to force Game 7 in the 2022 NBA Finals. First and foremost, they need to be physical and attack the rim way more than they did in the last two contests. Also, the Celtics’ defense has to stay aggressive for all 48 minutes and start forcing some turnovers.

Boston accounted for only 32 points in the paint in Game 4 and 36 points in the paint in Game 5. The Celtics have recorded 34 turnovers over those two games while handing out only 38 assists. Their second unit was a non-factor last Monday, finishing Game 5 with ten points on 2-for-10 shooting from the field.

Jaylen Brown struggled in Monday’s encounter, going 5-for-18 from the field and missing all of his five attempts from beyond the 3-point line. Jayson Tatum led the charge for the Celtics with 27 points, ten rebounds, and four assists, while Marcus Smart added 20 points and a pair of dishes.

Trends:

Golden State:

  • 8-3 ATS in the last 11 games overall

Boston:

  • 2-6 ATS in the last eight games played in June

Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics Pick

None of the previous five games has been decided by less than ten points, and I’m looking for a much tighter battle in Game 6. With their backs against the wall, the Celtics should be ready to fight, while the Warriors will continue to grind on the defensive end.

Hereof, I’m backing Golden State to cover a 4-point spread. The Warriors have plenty of playoff experience and should be able to keep it close down the stretch. If you’re expecting a dramatic finish, too, go with any team to win by five or fewer points at +190 odds.

Pick: Take Golden State Warriors +4.0 at -110

The Total:

The total has gone under in 14 of the last 18 encounters between the Warriors and Celtics and three of their previous four meetings in the 2022 NBA Finals. The teams have averaged 95.8 possessions per 48 minutes throughout this series, so I lean toward the under in Game 6.

The Celtics are shooting just 43.7% from the field in the finals, and the Warriors are making 45.2% of their field goals. Both teams are capable of playing tough defense and will have to prove it in Game 6.

Pick: Go under 210.0 points at -110
