The Furman Paladins (4-0) are off to a hot start and will try to remain undefeated when they take on the Alabama Crimson Tide (1-2) at Coleman Coliseum. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
Furman Paladins at Alabama Crimson Tide Odds Preview
The last time the Paladins played, they won big over the Southern Wesleyan Warriors, 83-61. Noah Gurley was the game’s leading scorer with 25 points on 10-for-10 shooting. Furman dominated nearly every facet of the game. They had a free throw rate of 0.136 (below their season average of 0.234) and a turnover percentage of 17.0 (worse than their season average of 13.9). Southern Wesleyan was 0.034 and 24.0, respectively, for those same stats.
The Crimson Tide are trying to rebound after their 93-79 loss to the Rhode Island Rams in their last outing. Kira Lewis Jr. led Alabama in scoring with 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting. Rhode Island did a fantastic job of making free throws (21-26; 80.8 percent). Alabama, meanwhile, had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (27.0 vs. 11.8).
This has potential to be a sloppy game for the Alabama offense. Since last season, Alabama ranks 272nd in the NCAA in ball protection (turnover percentage of 20.1 percent), while the ball-hawking defense of Furman has forced the 48th-most turnovers in the NCAA (21.4 percent).
