Free NBA Sports Betting Picks: LA Lakers at Dallas Mavericks
- Updated: January 19, 2011
The Dallas Mavericks are getting healthy again, just in time to play the Los Angeles Lakers.
BetDSI is the best online sportsbook to wager on the NBA and they have the latest odds on this and all other games on the schedule.
The Mavericks have had to deal with a bevy of injuries this year and it has hurt this team’s early success. Caron Butler, the Mavericks third leading scorer is lost for the season due to an injury. Then the star of the team, Dirk Nowitzki, was lost to injury and only recently returned to the floor when the Mavericks played the Memphis Grizzlies. Dallas’ leading scorer with 24.1 points per game, was back after missing nine games with a sprained right knee, but was rusty in his return. Nowitzki was ejected from that game for arguing a foul, and hopes to have a better showing against the Lakers.
The Lakers are back to the defending champion form from a year ago. They hold a firm double digit lead on the Pacific division and show no signs of slowing down. The Lakers rattled off seven straight victories before losing a tough battle to the in town rival LA Clippers.
The game against the Clippers ended ugly with some shoving under the basket, that erupted into some major scrapping between the two teams. When the dusts settled, there were four ejections to include Lakers Lamar Odom and of course, Ron Artest.
Suspensions are doubtful, but it is something to keep an eye on as the game with the Dallas Mavericks inches closer. When the Lakers face the Mavericks they will be playing their third game in four nights and could be short-handed.
The Lakers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. The Mavericks are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Wednesday games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.
Dallas looks to regain their form and make another run at the top of the Western Conference. They have slipped from the two seed in the conference all the way down to the five seed. A win against the Lakers would get them headed in the right direction.
Play on the Mavericks
