New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
Sunday, 8:05 pm Eastern ESPN
One of the best rivalries in all of sports continues on Sunday night as the Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees. The Yankees are schedule to throw Phil Hughes on Sunday while the Red Sox will counter with Daisuke Matsuzaka. Hughes has not started off well this season and will be under a lot of pressure on Sunday since he grew up as a Red Sox fan. Hughes couldnt make it out of the fourth inning on Tuesday against Kansas City. Hughes has never faced Boston in his career.

The Red Sox are thrilled so far with the pitching of Matsuzaka. They have won all three of his starts. He threw 6 2/3 shutout innings in his most recent outing, a 5-0 victory over the Tigers. Last season Matsuzaka was 2-1 against the Yankees but he had a high ERA of 6.12 in his four starts against them.
The Yankees have been suffering through injury problems with Derek Jeter missing games with a quad injury and they may be without All-Star catcher Jorge Posada for an extended period of time. He was taken out of the loss on Tuesday to Kansas City and may go on the DL. It's not sore," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "The ball is just not coming out of his hand the way you want it to. His footwork is fine and everything. We'll have to sit down and talk about that tonight and evaluate what we're going to do." Posada just wants his shoulder to feel normal again and a stint on the disabled list is a possibility. "We need to know what's going on," Posada said. "It's really early in the season, and we've got to be smart about it now. I don't want to be back there when I'm not helping the team out." Posada is batting only .176 so far this season. "It doesn't take that long to heal -- that's what I'm worried about," Posada said. "It usually takes four or five days and you're back at it. I had it during the spring, and now I have it a little bit now. I was throwing good down in Florida, so we'll see." Posada would be replaced in the lineup by Jose Molina.

The Red Sox were 5-4 at home against the Yankees last season including a 3-0 home sweep in April. All three of those games last April went over the total.
Pick Red Sox 4units, Hughes has had command issues and the Red Sox will take advantage of this.
