An American League East match-up will be featured in Major League Baseball betting action when the Baltimore Orioles face the Boston Red Sox Sunday night at 7:05 ET at historic Fenway Park. This Easter Sunday evening game will be the third of a four game series between these two divisional foes.

The Orioles cost themselves a chance to beat the Red Sox on Saturday as they left seven men on base in a 4-2 loss in Boston. Left fielder Nelson Cruz had a nice day for Baltimore going 2-for-4 with two RBI. The rest of the lineup really didn’t help the O’s as they struck out 11 times in the game. Their offense has been off to a good start scoring 4.12 runs per game, but only hit nine homeruns thus far. On Sunday pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez will take the mound for the Orioles as they try to take a two games to one lead on the Red Sox. Jimenez is still looking for his first win of the season as he has started out 0-3 with a 7.31 ERA in 16.0 innings of work. Baltimore will have to get the bats going in this game as its pitcher will most definitely be giving up some runs. The ‘over’ is 6-2 in the Orioles L/8 road games and their defense that gives up 3.97 runs per game probably has a lot to do with that stat.

The Red Sox got some timely hitting as third baseman Brock Holt untied the game in the seventh inning with a triple that gave his team a 3-2 lead. He then scored as shortstop Jonathan Herrera laid down a bunt for a perfectly executed suicide squeeze play that provided the final 4-2 score. Boston has struggled offensively scoring just 3.25 runs per game and it did all it could to manufacture runs to get a win on Saturday. Even with the win the Red Sox still trail the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East standings and are in the division cellar with a record of 8-10 SU. The world champs from 2013 will send Jake Peavy to the hill in Sunday’s game. Peavy has received no decisions in all three of his starts putting up a 1.93 ERA in 18.2 innings. The Red Sox will be hoping for a big offensive output as they face a struggling Jimenez in this game. Catcher A.J. Pierzynski took Saturday’s game off for regular rest, his addition to the lineup should also help this team get the offense headed in the right direction.

The Red Sox have won three of the L/4 meetings with the Orioles and will be looking to grab a series lead in this game. We expect to see Boston put a lot of runs on the board in primetime Sunday night to showcase a lineup that should be powerful against a weaker pitcher. Take the Red Sox to get the win as Peavy will have a great outing and get a lot of run support.
