An American League East battle will be featured in Major League Baseball betting action when the Tampa Bay Rays travel to face the New York Yankees Tuesday night at 7:05 ET on YES at Yankee Stadium. This will be the second of a three game series between these two rivals with the Rays coming in as ‘favorites’ on the board.

The Rays extended their winning streak to three games with a 4-3 win in 12 innings over the Yankees to open up this series on Monday. Second baseman Logan Forsythe delivered an RBI single that proved to be the winning run for Tampa Bay. Right fielder Kevin Kiermaier hit his seventh homerun of the season in the win as he went 3-for-5 at the plate. Pitcher Chris Archer received a no decision as he went 7.0 strong innings giving up just two runs on five hits to help his team to the victory. The Rays pitching staff recorded nine strikeouts to finish off a record setting June in which they struck out 287 batters to set a league record for strikeouts in a month. Their power pitcher David Price will take the hill in this one as he comes in with a 6-7 record having punched out 144 batters of his own this season. Price was great in his last outing as he sat down 11 Pittsburgh Pirates in a 5-1 win last week in which he threw 8.1 innings giving up just one earned run on five hits.

The Yankees couldn’t find a way to get things going against Archer, but they did manage to send the game to extra innings when second baseman Brian Roberts hit a game-tying homer. Roberts and center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury were the only batters to get two hits on Monday. Pitcher David Phelps gave New York a strong outing as he gave up two runs on four hits in 5.2 innings of work. Right hander Hiroki Kuroda will get the start for the Yankees in this one as he comes in with a 4.23 ERA over 95.2 innings pitched this season. He was solid in his last appearance as he gave up three runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings as he took a 5-3 decision over the Toronto Blue Jays. New York has been sliding of late as it is just 2-7 in its L/9 games overall. First baseman Mark Teixera leads the team with 15 homeruns on the year and he will be batting right handed in this one while facing Price.

The Rays clearly have the best of this pitching match-up as any start could be Price’s last as a member of the team with his name in many trade talks. Tampa Bay’s offense has been much better of late as it tries to turn around a dismal 35-49 start to the season. We expect to see Price have another amazing audition for another team and the Rays lineup have their way with Kuroda to pick up a win in the Bronx.
