Adam Burke was happy to take listeners back into The Bettor’s Box for another show jam-packed with baseball betting insight and analysis. The Major League Baseball regular season is winding down and teams will finish up their seasons three weeks from when the show was recorded on Sunday night. Those fortunate enough to make the postseason will play longer, but 20 of the league’s 30 teams will play their final games on the first Sunday of October. Because of that, there are a lot of motivational things to consider and inflated lines are the norm this time of the year.

Listeners of the show can also hit Adam up on Twitter at his handle, @SkatingTripods, to talk baseball betting, topics for the show, or any other sport at BangTheBook. He’s always willing to discuss baseball, as well as the other sports. Don’t hesitate to ask him for more clarification about sabermetrics or about the observations that he has seen in previous games.

This is an MLB show, but Adam is also the host of three other football-related podcasts here at BangTheBook. Adam is joined on the College Football Podcast by Kyle Hunter, the Gridiron Gambling Report by Cole Ryan, and Football Fridays with Joe D’Amico. The reach of our shows is growing by leaps and bounds and we cannot thank our loyal listeners and readers enough.

Some key series were completed over the weekend and Adam recapped those in a recurring segment called Beyond the Box Score. The Toronto Blue Jays took three out of four in their big series against the New York Yankees and left town with a 3.5-game lead. Both teams got some disappointing injury news and Adam put those losses into perspective on the show.

A top National League team is struggling mightily right now, so they were discussed once again on the show. The St. Louis Cardinals are having a rough go of things right now and some of their hardships need to be examined in further detail. A top American League team picked up a huge win on Sunday to salvage a game in a big series against the Angels. Does that win mean anything for Houston past Sunday?

The MLB betting market is very interesting this time of year and throughout the season. That’s why the Down the Lines segment is such an essential part of the show. It is a good way to see what the perceptions of teams and specific pitchers are and all of that stuff is valuable information to baseball handicappers. That’s why it’s always part of this show. A pick for Monday night was also included during this discussion of the lines.

Finally, Adam took a look at the week ahead with some thoughts on the games and series that are of the most interest before the next recording of The Bettor’s Box on Thursday. What should you be looking for this week?
