Head coach Jay Hopson is back for his third season, which is usually when teams really get it all figured out. Considering Southern Miss is 15-11 on his watch, it’s hard to see a higher ceiling for this team.

North Texas won nine of its first 12 games, but got rocked in its last two games, so they are a bit of an afterthought heading into 2018. To be fair, North Texas lost by double digits in all five losses against the only noteworthy teams that they played.
