Turner Gill has had a winning season every year as Liberty head coach and last year’s team upset Baylor 48-45 in the opener, so there’s no doubt they have the confidence needed to play with the big boys.

You could argue that no team was unluckier than San Jose State in 2017. The Spartans turned the ball over more than any other team in the FBS and did so by a considerable margin. Could positive regression help in 2018?

The 2018 season was rough for Ball State. The injuries on the offensive side of the ball were brutal to say the least and it showed, with the offense mustering only 17.9 points per game.

Army didn’t lose a single game in West Point last year with a perfect 6-0 record at home and their home game slate this year has an ample amount of cupcakes outside of Air Force.

We’ll have to see if Dana Dimel brings the ATS magic of his sensei Bill Snyder, but the former Kansas State offensive coordinator should at least bring more wins to the program. You know, because it would be hard to win fewer games.

Last year’s team played hard with six of their losses coming by ten points or less, so there’s no doubt that this season’s group will understand just how dearly those close losses can potentially hurt them.

Only two teams have ever gone from losing 10 or more games to winning 10 or more games in consecutive seasons. Fresno State became the second last season. What do they have in mind for an encore?
