Football Pick: Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions Preview

Dallas Cowboys

A pair of teams that think they are going to the playoffs this year duke it out in Big D in NFL betting action in Week 4, as the Detroit Lions face the Dallas Cowboys.

The Lions just can’t lose right now, and there is a real chance that they could be at the head of the class in the NFC North by their lonesome here in a few weeks’ time with some more stellar play. The offense hasn’t gotten a lot on the ground to date, but thanks to the big time passing attack led by QB Matt Stafford, there is a legit hope that this team can average right around the 400.0 yards per game that it has through three games for the entire season. Stafford has thrown for 977 yards and nine TD passes in two weeks against just two picks, and he has done a remarkable job getting the ball to his top target. WR Calvin Johnson, the “Megatron” has been all over the field, catching 16 passes for 225 yards and a whopping six TDs, registering two TDs in each of these first two games. Watch out for RB Jahvid Best as well, as he has a total of 64 touches in three games with 325 total yards and two scores.

At some point, we just hope to see the Dallas media shut up about QB Tony Romo. Sure, the guy lost the first game of the year at the New York Jets, a game in which the Cowboys were relatively sizeable underdogs and weren’t expected to compete in. He’s not getting any help from his defense, which ranks No. 16 in scoring at 22.3 points per game, and his ground attack has only given him 78.0 yards per game. WR Miles Austin missed last week’s game and won’t be in the fold this week either, and WR Dez Bryant was out for the back part of the loss against the Jets and the entire game against the San Francisco 49ers. Romo has battled a rib injury and the media the entire way, and he still has 942 yards and four TDs against two picks. What more to you want from the guy? If there’s a man to watch on the other side of the ball, it’s LB DeMarcus Ware coming off of the corner. Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan has him running all over the place, and the end result to date has been five sacks in three games.

Dallas Cowboys @ Detroit Lions Pick: There’s no doubt in our minds that the Cowboys are the better team in this game. We just don’t see how Detroit, even with all of this hype around it, is going to come on the road and take care of the ‘Boys, especially with this offense still clicking in spite of all of the problems that it has had over the course fo the year.
