A big day of college basketball betting awaits on Saturday and this ACC match-up will start the evening when the Boston College Eagles play host to the Duke Blue Devils at 6:00 ET on ESPN inside the Silvio O. Conte Forum.
The Blue Devils got another win on Tuesday as they defeated the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 83-63 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Freshman sensation F Jabari Parker led his team with 21 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks in the win. It was the sixth straight game that Parker put up double figures in points and the fifth straight game he had at least seven boards. The Blue Devils have been on fire from beyond the three point line shooting 27-of-62 (43.5 percent) in their L/2 contests. Senior G Andre Dawkins has been deadly making 55-of-115 (47.8 percent) from three. Dawkins made a three pointer to send the game against the Syracuse Orange to overtime on Saturday. This team was primed to pull the upset before falling to the Orange 91-89 in OT. Duke’s offense is 19th in the country scoring 81.9 points per game. The Blue Devils come into this game ranked No. 11 in the latest polls and they are 3-2 ATS on the road this season. If the offense can stay this hot, Duke will be tough to beat when the tournament comes around in March.
It has been a forgettable year so far for the Eagles who are 2-7 SU in ACC play. They come into this game off a 77-67 loss to the No. 20 Virginia Cavaliers on the road Wednesday night. Junior F Ryan Anderson led the way for Boston College scoring 20 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the loss. Anderson has been the most consistent performer on his team averaging 15.2 points and 7.1 boards per game. The Eagles have lost eight of their L/10 games overall, but are 3-0 ATS in their L/3 contests. The only conference wins for this team have come against the Virginia Tech Hokies who are the only team below them in the ACC standings. This will be the stiffest challenge at home for the Eagles since they faced Syracuse and hung tough before taking a 69-59 loss. The only chance Boston College has in this game is to drive to the hoop and get this Duke squad in some foul trouble early. The Eagles are 26th in the nation shooting 74.7 percent from the free throw line. If nothing else, that figures to be their biggest asset to cover the spread.
Duke has been playing tough on the road of late as it hung close at Syracuse and beat the Pittsburgh Panthers handily 80-65 back on January 27th. We expect the Blue Devils to come out and dominate the Eagles by driving the ball inside and shooting a high percentage from the outside. Duke is 15-8 ATS overall and has a 6-0 ATS record in their L/6 games. In the Blue Devils’ last trip to Boston they beat the Eagles going away 89-68 on February 24th, 2013 and we look for a similar outcome in this one. Duke 86 – Boston College 69
