We have an NFL inter-conference battle in Jacksonville on Sunday, December 18, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Cowboys vs. Jaguars betting pick and odds.

Dallas is looking for the fifth win in a row when they visit Jacksonville at TIAA Bank Field. The Cowboys are -4.5 favorites on BetOnline Sportsbook, while the total is set at 47.5 points. These inter-conference rivals haven’t met since 2018.

Cowboys came from behind to beat the Texans at home

The Dallas Cowboys (10-3-0, 8-5-0 ATS) are on a four-game winning streak, but this positive run could end in Week 14 as the Houston Texans almost made a huge upset. Dallas trailed 23-17 after three quarters but managed to score ten unanswered in the fourth, including a game-winning TD with just 41 seconds remaining to claim a 27-23 home victory. The game wouldn’t be that close if the hosts didn’t commit three turnovers, but they still came away with a W.

Dak Prescott completed 24 of 39 passes for 284 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Tony Pollard caught that lone TD pass, while Dalton Schultz and Noah Brown combined for 172 yards on ten receptions (16 targets). On the ground, Ezekiel Elliott and Pollard scored a touchdown apiece and combined for 104 yards on 25 carries. Defensively, Leighton Vander Esch was a monster with a game-high 14 tackles.

T Tyron Smith (hamstring) is out indefinitely and will not be able to feature on Sunday against the Jaguars. WR T.Y. Hilton signed a deal with the Cowboys on Monday, but it’s unknown whether he’ll be ready to make his debut on Sunday in Jacksonville.

Jaguars shocked the Titans on the road

The Jacksonville Jaguars (5-8-0, 5-7-1 ATS) bounced back from their biggest defeat of the season against the Detroit Lions with an unlikely 36-22 victory over the divisional foes Tennessee Titans on the road. Jacksonville’s defense was rock-solid in this one, registering four turnovers while the offense didn’t commit a single one on the other end.

Trevor Lawrence impressed as he completed 30 of 42 passes for 368 yards and three touchdowns. He also added a rushing touchdown. Evan Engram erupted for a career-high 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 11 catches, while Zay Jones also scored a receiving TD as he finished with 77 yards on eight receptions. The Jags had four sacks opposite Tennessee’s zero, and Foyesade Oluokun posted a game-high 14 tackles.

WR Calvin Ridley (suspension) is out for the season. S Andre Cisco (shoulder), DE Travon Walker (ankle), and LB Chad Muma (ankle) are questionable to face Dallas on Sunday.

Trends:

Dallas:

  • 11-3 ATS in the last 14 road games
  • 6-0 ATS in the last six games following an ATS loss
  • 13-3 ATS in the last 16 vs. a team with a losing record

Jacksonville:

  • 2-7-1 ATS in the last ten games following an ATS win
  • 2-6 ATS in the last eight games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game

Dallas Cowboys vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Pick

Trevor Lawrence is in good form at the moment, but he is facing the second-best pass defense in the NFL that is allowing 182.4 yards to the opposing receivers. Dallas has the third-best offense in the league that scores 27.7 points per game and the third-best defense that surrenders 17.6 ppg. The Cowboys scored at least 24 points in each of their last seven games, and I am pretty sure Prescott, Elliott, Pollard, and Lamb are going to have a strong offensive showing on Sunday. The hosts also have offensive weapons that can hurt the rivals, but I don’t think they have a chance against the in-form Cowboys.

Pick: Take the Cowboys at -4.5 (-110)

The Total

The improving Jacksonville’s offense is one of the strongest reasons I expect to see a high-scoring affair here. We got used to Dallas’ strong offensive displays; the Cowboys scored 81 points in their previous two games. Although I don’t think the hosts will score multiple touchdowns through the air because of Dallas’ solid secondary, I am backing the hosts to exploit the ground and use Travis Etienne Jr. a lot. Over is 5-0 in the last five H2H meetings; Over is 5-1 in the Cowboys’ previous six games overall, while Over is 6-2 in the Jaguars’ last eight games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.

Pick: Go Over 45.5 points (-130)
