Nolan Arenado and the Colorado Rockies will make a road trip to PETCO Park to do battle against a divisional opponent in the San Diego Padres. The matchup gets underway at 10:10 p.m. ET and you can catch the game on ATRM and FSSD.

Colorado Rockies at San Diego Padres Odds

The Padres are 11-6 straight up (SU) and 9-7 against the spread (ATS). They’ve gained 5.7 units for moneyline bettors and 2.6 units ATS. San Diego has a 3-4 ATS mark over its last seven games and the under has cashed in three of those seven. On the other hand, the Rockies have gone 4-12 SU this year and are 4-11 ATS. They’re down 10.1 units for moneyline bettors through the early portions of the season and 9.8 units ATS. Colorado has covered the spread only once in its last seven games and the under has cashed in four of those seven.

Lucchesi made four starts against the team in 2018, putting together a 1-0 record in 2018, compiling a 1-0 record with a 2.05 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

As a unit, San Diego’s pitching staff has given up 3.9 runs per game overall in 2019. The team’s starters have a 3.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 8.1 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a 4.25 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 10.6 K/9. In 14 games against divisional foes, Padres starters have an ERA of 3.69 and the bullpen’s ERA is 4.05.

The San Diego hitters have produced 3.8 runs per outing, including 3.7 per game against divisional foes and 4.2 per game over their last five. The team has slashed .224/.273/.453 over its last five games and is 4-1 SU during that span.

The Padres’ offense has been led by outfielders Wil Myers and Manuel Margot. Myers is slashing .298/.333/.509 with 17 hits, seven RBIs and seven runs scored, while Margot’s line is .333/.347/.563 with 16 hits, seven RBIs and seven runs.

In the visiting dugout, Colorado’s pitching staff allowed 4.9 runs per game and its starters own a 5.18 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 8.17 K/9. The bullpen has an ERA of 3.41, along with a WHIP of 1.36 and a K/9 of 8.07.

The Rockies offense has slashed .201/.263/.312 on its way to 2.9 runs scored per game in 2019, including 3.1 runs per game against divisional foes and 1.8 per game over the team’s last five outings (1-4 SU).

Colorado’s offense has been fueled by third baseman Nolan Arenado and shortstop Trevor Story. Arenado is slashing .254/.324/.365 with 16 hits, nine RBIs and seven runs scored, while Story (.242/.309/.452) has produced 15 hits, four homers, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored.

The Rockies have lost 5.1 units and are 1-4 ATS when facing a lefty starter this season. The over’s hit in one of those games, compared to three that’ve gone under against right-handed starting pitchers.
