College Football Week 5 Betting Trends
- Updated: September 25, 2013
Last week’s schedule didn’t have many big games, but the week five college football slate is a strong one once again. LSU vs. Georgia as well as Wisconsin vs. Ohio State are the headliners this weekend, but there are plenty of big games on the schedule. Conference play begins for a lot of the biggest conferences in football, and this is where the action gets even more hard hitting. It should be a great weekend of college football!
BangtheBook has offered a trends to consider article during the baseball season, and now we’ll be having a college football trends to consider article during the football season as well. This will give bettors a good look at some of the most important trends to consider before placing a bet this week. Let’s look at trends to consider for games this coming weekend.
-Mississippi gets a great chance to prove they are for real when they take on Alabama this weekend. Mississippi is actually 4-0 ATS in their last 4 at Alabama. The Crimson Tide are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.
-The Florida Gators are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against the Kentucky Wildcats. Jeff Driskel is out for the season with an injury, but this defense is elite. Kentucky is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
-Oklahoma will try to get some revenge in South Bend this weekend against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Notre Dame won 30-13 last year in Norman. Notre Dame is 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Oklahoma is just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 against a team with a winning record.
-Oklahoma State will be in West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers this weekend. The Mountaineers are licking their wounds after being beat down 37-0 by Maryland last week. West Virginia is just 3-13 ATS in their last 16 home games against a team with a winning road record. The under is 7-0 in West Virginia’s last 7 games.
-South Carolina has a tricky game at UCF this weekend. The Golden Knights are unbeaten so far this year. The Gamecocks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 following a bye week. On the other side, UCF is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games.
-The Washington Huskies are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games. Washington will host Arizona in an interesting Pac-12 matchup this week. Arizona is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 meetings with the Huskies. The over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings between these two.
-Ohio State is 40-18-1 ATS in their last 59 games overall. Wisconsin is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games. The underdog is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings between these teams.
-Cal and Oregon meet in Eugene this weekend. The most striking thing about this game is the posted total which is set at 84 points. The under is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings at Oregon between these teams. Having said that, I would be scared to have the under when these two teams are on the field together. Oregon is 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
-USC is 0-8 ATS in their last 8 road games overall. The Trojans are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games at Arizona State. The under is 6-0 in USC’s last 6 games overall.
-LSU is just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 SEC games. Georgia is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against an SEC opponent. The over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
