College Football Lock of the Week – Week 11
- Updated: November 11, 2011
The college football season is filled with great games and easy bets, but they are always much easier to find after the game is played. The best bet of the week is often called a lock and that simply indicates it is the best bet of the week and is almost assured to cash at the betting window.
This week that pick is in the SEC where the Georgia Bulldogs take on the Auburn Tigers.
The Georgia Bulldogs are in a great position to take the title in the SEC East after the South Carolina Gamecocks dropped a big game against the Razorbacks. Now the Bulldogs can win out, stake their claim in the east and play in the SEC Championship. This is some serious vindication for a team with a coach on the hot seat and was not expected to do anything.
The Auburn Tigers have struggled after losing key players from their championship team. The most glaring loss is on defense, where they have been beaten up all year long.
The Tigers are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog, 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game, and -4 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. On the other hand the Bulldogs are 9-1-2 ATS in their last 12 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game, 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite of 10.5 or greater, and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
The Bulldogs need this win and they come out swinging and pile up the points against the Tigers.
Georgia Bulldogs -13.5
