College Football Consensus: Big Public Plays Week 9
- Updated: October 26, 2012
The college football consensus report is a great way to start scouring the schedule for winners in week 9. The report will give you a first-look at all of the big public ways and where the money is moving. This week there is a few under the radar teams getting plenty of action as well as some Top 25 teams.
The public will bet against teams they have no understanding about just to get on big favorites and week 9 is a perfect example of this. Utah State plays against Texas-San Antonio in a game that will hardly make anyone’s radar heading into this week of college football.
Yet the Aggies are getting 75 percent of the action which is the most on the board for a road favorite. The reason for this is probably due to the fact that Utah State has played televised games and beaten several big name opponents. On the other hand not many people outside of the Lone Star State have heard of Texas-San Antonio and didn’t even realize they had a football team. Betting against a team without intimate knowledge of that team can only lead to a bad beat on Saturday.
Most of the bigger games this weekend are getting close to even action. Nebraska is three point favorites over Michigan and the favorite is getting 57 percent. In the SEC Florida is getting 62 percent of the action as six point favorites over Georgia and South Carolina is getting 55 percent of the action as a double-digit favorite over Tennessee.
It doesn’t matter how big the game is for the weekend, the college football consensus is always worth looking at because it could uncover some surprises, like Texas –San Antonio +21.5 over the Utah State Aggies.
