College Football Betting: Miami Ohio vs. Ohio Pick

Ohio Cheerleader

On Tuesday night, our NCAA football picks head to Athens, where the MAC East champs, the Ohio Bobcats look to build some momentum heading into next week’s conference title game when they welcome the Miami Redhawks to town.

Chances for bowl eligibility went down the drain last week for the Redhawks when they were beaten by the Western Michigan Broncos. Don’t mistake this for you average 4-7 team, though. Over the course of the last four games, Miami has convincing wins over the Buffalo Bulls and Akron Zips, and it should have beaten the Temple Owls in the City of Brotherly Love as well, losing by just a field goal. QB Zac Dysert is wrapping up a fantastic season in which he completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 3,141 yards with 22 TDs against 11 INTs. That being said, he just didn’t have the rushing game this year to be able to make this team bowl eligible once again with the departure of RB Thomas Merriweather from last year’s team. Miami’s defense has been great by MAC standards as well. The team has allowed 24 points or fewer in four straight games and has only had 40+ dropped on it once all season long. In a conference where 100+ point games have become the norm and not the wild exception, that’s definitely saying something.

BetOnline.comThe Bobcats have gotten the job done on the road, again, something else that is a rarity in the MAC. They beat the Akron Zips, Central Michigan Chippewas, and Bowling Green Falcons on the road just in the last four games, and they also had a win over the Temple Owls in the mix as well. Ohio is the real deal because of its well balanced offense. The squad ranks in the Top 40 in America in every major offensive category. QB Tyler Tettleton has thrown for 2,639 yards and rushed for 436 more, ad he has accounted for a solid 31 total touchdowns. RB Donte Harden and RB Ryan Boykin are both superstar running backs in this conference, and RB Beau Blankenship makes the most of his chances as well. The three have combined for over 300 carries, almost 1,600 yards, and seven TDs. WR LaVon Brazill needs 95 receiving yards to reach 1,000 in the regular season. He’s electric, averaging over 17 yards per reception.

Miami Ohio Redhawks @ Ohio Bobcats Pick: We tend to think that the Redhawks are hanging in this game. Ohio knows that it has the MAC title game next week regardless and that it is guaranteed its bowl game. Miami is going to want to go out a winner to prove that it was a lot better than its 4-7 record through its first 11 games.

College Football Pick: Miami Redhawks +7.5 at Bookmaker Sportsbook.
