This week the college basketball betting sheet is filled with important betting bits that will reveal winners for February 5th to February 9th.

Sooner or Later

The week tips off in a big fashion in the Big 12 as the Oklahoma Sooners will host the West Virginia Mountaineers in a matchup of two ranked teams needing wins. Both teams are in desperate need of a victory and both teams are below the .500 mark against the spread (ATS). West Virginia is 9-10 ATS on the season and the Sooners are 8-13 ATS. This game should be very close and that is why the Sooners Are just (-1.5) point favorites heading into the full week of college basketball.  The Mountaineers need this win more than the Sooners since they have lost six of the last seven games straight up, posting a 1-6 ATS mark along the way. The Sooners have not fared much better as they have won just once in the last four games posting a 1-3 ATS mark in that short stretch. The problem is that the favorite in this series is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings between these two teams.  The Mountaineers will give the Sooners a challenge, but in the end the Sooners will be just too much at home on Monday night.

Underdog are Biting

If you bet on Saturday and you did not have an underdog you may have had a long day. Several big named programs lost outright. This included some ranked and impressive programs with a long lasting legacy. This includes Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and Arizona. To make matters worse for these teams, they all lost to unranked squads. The Oklahoma Sooners also lost to unranked Texas and several other high profile teams like Purdue and Michigan State had to hold on late in the game. All of those games saw the underdog cover against the spread and many won outright cashing in on the money line which provided big pay days for college basketball bettors. This is the time of the year when you want to pay close attention to underdogs since everyone is trying to get a statement win so they will be invited to the big dance.

Look Out for Louisville

The Louisville Cardinals are a very good team and they have several home games that should give the bettor a good chance to bet on the home team. This week the Cardinals will host Syracuse and Georgia Tech before the head out on the road against Pittsburgh next weekend. The Cardinals are 3-2 ATS in the last five home games and they are just 7-6 ATS at home this season, but they are 7-2 ATS in the last nine games overall. The Cardinals are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games against a team with a losing road record and they could be a team to bet on this week in college basketball.
