The college basketball season has already been loaded with great games, bad beats and some big wins and losses. For the college handicapper it has been a few weeks of exciting actions with big teams playing in even bigger tournaments and providing some excellent basketball. If the college basketball handicapper has played it right they would have had a first month of profits to go along with the first month of hoops.
However it will be close to transition time. The college basketball world is going to chance over from tournament play to conference play as teams start to resume a “normal” schedule as they head off into the regular season. This is a different type of basketball and the handicapper will have to adjust if they want to make money betting on basketball. If the schedule changes, the handicapping has to adjust. Teams are playing on home courts instead of neutral courts and they are getting more rest in between games. The biggest mistake that a college handicapper will do is forget to adjust when the regular season really gets underway. If you adjust during the season you will make more money. You also need to make sure you keep up with the college basketball betting sheet so you have this incredible information.
Every college basketball handicapper that likes underdogs is having a tough start to the season. Away underdogs are winning straight up at just 17 percent this season as they are 83-393 straight up this season. Home dogs are not much better as they are just 62-137 straight up on the season. This does not get much better when you look at records against the spread (ATS). Underdogs overall on the college basketball season are just 304-363-8 ATS this season which is just 45 percent. Away underdogs are 211-258-7 which is just 44 percent. The best bet so far this season has been betting home favorites who are winning at a 55 percent clip with a 258-211-7 ATS mark.
Big Ten Beatdown
The big game on Friday night is in the Big ten with the Purdue Boilermakers traveling to take on the Maryland Terrapins who have been established as a two point pup in front of their home fans. The Boilermakers are 0-2-2 ATS in the last four meetings so they are dying to egt a win, and Maryland may be willing to lie down as their college basketball betting trends show that they could be a bad bet this weekend. The Terrapins are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team from the Big Ten and they are just 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games when they play against a team with a winning road record. The Terps may be loveable home dogs, but beware what you are buying into.
