There are always a lot of reasons to celebrate the start of a new year, but the transition from 2020 to 2021 definitely has some additional hope and optimism behind it.
BetOnline Poker is doing their bit to celebrate with some excellent offers for new and existing players. Updates have been made to the Weekly Promotions and Tournament Schedule to increase leaderboard prizes for cash games, sit-n-go tournaments, and survivor freerolls.
And, with perhaps the biggest announcement of all, BetOnline has made changes to its tournament schedule for 2021 and promises a “new and improved” calendar for poker enthusiasts.

$40,000 Cash Leaderboards
Beginning January 3, poker players can opt-in to specific leaderboards and play their favorite stakes at real money cash games. From Sunday to Sunday, players will earn points to climb the ranks in the leaderboard of their choosing.
For cash game stakes of $0.05/0.10 to $0.10/$0.25, the top 25 places will get paid. Prizes will range from $200 for first to $150 to second to $110 for third and then on down to $90 for fourth and $50 for fifth. Those that finish sixth through 10th will get $35 and those that finish 11th through 25th will get $15. That is $1,000 in total prizes available.
For cash game stakes of $0.50/$1 to $1/$2, the top 25 places will also get paid. Prize amounts are $575 for first, $450 for second, $375 for third, $325 for fourth, $225 for fifth, $185 for sixth through 10th, and then $75 for 11th through 25th. That is $4,000 in total prizes available.
For cash game stakes of $2/$5 and above, the top 10 places will be paid. First place gets $1,000, with $825 for second and $750 for third. Fourth place will get $600 and fifth place will get $450. Finishers in sixth through 10th place get $275 for a total of $5,000 in prizes.

$20,000 SnG Leaderboards
Also beginning January 3, prizes will be available for the leaderboards for Sit-N-Go and Windfall Tournaments. Opt-in to this offer and play your favorite fast-paced games from Sunday to Sunday to earn points from your activity.
$5,000 in weekly prizes will be given out each week in January with this breakdown:
1st: $275 TM
2nd $200 TM
3rd: $165 TM
4th: $135 TM
5th: $125 TM
6th-10th: $95 TM
11th-25th: $75 TM
The TM stands for Tournament Money, so you will be able to earn buy-ins and tournament tickets based on your play in Sit-N-Go and Windfall Tournaments.

$10,000 Survivor Freerolls
Beginning on January 4, the Survivor Freerolls on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET will welcome players that have met the daily challenge of the week. Players will have to fulfill the challenge Monday through Saturday and have to survive each day without missing one of the challenges. If you do that, you’ll gain entry into Freeroll tournaments with guaranteed prize pools from $1,000 to $5,000.
Here are the challenges for each week in January:
January 4-9: Daily $1 in Rake – GTD $1,000 Freeroll on January 10 at 1 p.m. ET
January 11-16: Daily $3 in Rake – GTD $1,500 Freeroll on January 17 at 1 p.m. ET
January 18-23: Daily $6 in Rake – GTD $2,500 Freeroll on January 24 at 1 p.m. ET
January 25-30: Daily $10 in Rake – GTD $5,000 Freeroll on January 31 at 1 p.m. ET
In order to fulfill the rake requirement, you’ll have to sit down and play some cash game action every day Monday through Saturday.

New & Improved Tournament Schedule
BetOnline Poker is really boosting its tournament profile in the month of January. They have added $1.8 million in guaranteed tournaments for the first month of 2021. They have also added more variety for those that want to play something other than Texas Hold ‘Em or the usual games.
