This is a well-rounded Davidson team, with four players averaging double-digits. Hyunjung Lee is the leading scorer at 17.5 points per game and is adding 6.6 boards per contest. He is shooting 51.3% from the field, as four of the five leading scorers are averaging better than 50% from the floor.

VCU Look to Rebuild Momentum

The VCU Rams (10-5) saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end when they lost to St. Bonaventure last Friday. The Rams are 8-2 ATS in their last 10. VCU has won four straight games at home.

The Rams struggled to hit shots against St. Bonaventure, hitting 38.5% from the field, including 7-20 from three-point range. The Rams did hold St. Bonaventure to just 43.1% shooting, but the Bonnies got to the line 27 times, hitting 23 free throws to earn the victory. This is an aggressive Rams team (28th in steals, 15th in blocks) that relies on quickness and must be careful to avoid foul trouble.

Surprisingly, VCU enters this contest as the favorite. While they are an exceptional defensive team, they clearly do not have the skill set to be able to keep up with Davidson. This is one of those classic offense versus defense kinds of contests, but you have to like the overall efficiency of how the Wildcats play. They can hit from anywhere on the court, and that should be a challenge against a Rams team that proved they can find ways to give games away.

Because of the defensive style that VCU plays, the tendency is to lean toward the under in a contest like this. However, they have gone under 132 in just one of their last three games, the loss to St. Bonaventure where they simply could not score and where the Bonnies had to rely on free-throw to win. They should have more success against a Davidson team giving up nearly 67 points per game, but do not expect much more than that.

However, no issue should arise for the Wildcats to score in the 70s here. During the 13-game winning streak the least amount of points that they have scored is 70, and that came more than six weeks ago. This game will be a lot closer to 140 as a total.
