The NBA is cruising right along at an early stage in the season. Many NBA handicappers don’t bet on the NBA this time of year unless they are diehard hoop fans. The reason is that the handicapper does not want to be stretched too thin. With college football and the National Football League dominating the betting action, many will wait for basketball. That is a mistake because the NBA offers more value in the beginning of the season then it does at other times of the season.
That is why we go out of our way to find you the best information on basketball betting in the NBA. This information will be on many different teams and it will contain many different things to consider. It could be recent news and notes from a team or even betting trends, wagering angles and much more. We have another jam packed NBA Betting Sheet with all of the information that you need to know to bet on basketball this season and make a profit in the NBA.
Nuggets Not Ready
The NBA made some changes in the off season as they set out to make an easier schedule for all teams so they did not rest their star players. Although the NBA schedule makers made some adjustments they still have several teams who will have a tough stretch of schedule. That team this week is the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets finish up an east coast road trip this week and will head home which is usually a good thing. However for the Nuggets it won’t be easy. Between the end of last week and the end of this week the Nuggets will play five games in seven nights. This will include two back to back sets of games and it ends with a game at home against the Golden State Warriors. The Nuggets could be tired for the game against the Warriors or could even get caught looking ahead as they host the Miami Heat before the Warriors.
Zeroing in on the Zebras
When betting on baseball many handicappers will include umpires in the handicapping process. However, when people bet on the NBA they do not do the same thing. It is imperative that the basketball handicapper checks out the referees that will be working the game. This season James Capers is one of the best umpires as home teams are a perfect 5-0 against the spread (ATS) when he works a game. When it comes to betting on basketball totals there are a few names to watch. Jason Goldenberg has seen the over go over all three times in every game that he has worked. Ed Malloy is also a perfect 3-0 to the over but he has a higher average per game as he averages 232 points per game in the games that he has officiated. If you are going to bet on basketball you have to consider the officials.
Betting on Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Nets have been a doormat in the NBA for years to come, but things might be changing. They are 3-4 straight up and 4-3 ATS which is nothing to write home about, but they do have some good betting trends in their favor. The Nets are 41-17-2 ATS in their last 60 games when playing a team from the NBA Pacific division. This is good news as they spend this week playing three games against teams from this division. Although they have covered 19 of the last 28 games against the spread you have to consider the fact that they are going on a west coast road trip this week.
Bucks Highway Happy
The Milwaukee Bucks play the Oklahoma City Thunder this week and then head out on the road for four games against quality opponents that include the Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs. While many NBA teams prefer to play at home, the Bucks are happy to go on the road. The Bucks are just 1-4-1 ATS in the last six games in front of the fans.
Cavs Crashing Early
Whenever a team comes out and makes comments about not being concerned about a losing streak you know there is a problem. LeBron James and Co. came out this week and said not to worry. That is easier said than done. They have just 3 wins and they are four in their division and have lost to teams they would normally destroy like the Brooklyn Nets. They are also 1-6 ATS this season making them a bad bet for anyone who has followed the Cavs. The offense for the Cavs is not clicking. They are getting some open shots, but they are failing to convert. JR Smith is in an incredible shooting slump and betting on the Cavs at this point in the season, could be tough to do.
