Host Adam Burke was out of breath by the time that we got to the end of today’s edition of The Bettor’s Box, but it’s safe to say that this one made up for what we missed and the unconventional schedule during his recent vacation. There was a ton to talk about on today’s show, including a tremendous Monday Mailbag, so this one ran a little long, but it was bursting with baseball betting insight and analysis.
We started by going Beyond the Box Score to look at some of the series that just concluded over the weekend, including three four-game sweeps, as the Indians swept the Twins, the Rockies swept the Giants, and the A’s swept the Yankees. We also looked at the White Sox taking two of three from the Jays, including two Jays losses as a -200 favorite or higher.
The Down the Lines segment featured more of the same, although we didn’t see a ton of line moves out there in the marketplace on Father’s Day weekend. That segment included Adam’s pick for Monday night, as we’ve got a good situational spot to take advantage of on a home underdog catching a juicy price.
This week’s Monday Mailbag featured a lot of good questions. Some first five inning trends are popping up and some listeners are wondering what stats are the best metrics to use. There’s always so much to consider for Major League Baseball and that was the overriding theme of today’s Mailbag segment.
Finally, Adam took a look at four upcoming series, including a series price to take a shot at, and also gave an overall point as we inch closer to the All-Star Break and a nice respite from the daily grind of betting baseball.
