It is Trade Deadline day in Major League Baseball, which means that there are a ton of moving pieces and parts. It also makes today’s edition of The Bettor’s Box one of the most challenging of the season, as host Adam Burke tries to stay up on the latest while also bringing you the best baseball betting information and analysis in the industry.
Today’s show started with some important announcements. We’re going to be live on the air next Monday with our daily editions of the show. We’ll go up until Thursday next week, with our host getting married on Friday, but then go five days a week the following week and right on through the end of the college basketball season. Our focus will primarily be the football season, but we’ll also be looking at baseball on Wednesdays and Fridays, with The Bettor’s Box likely rolled into the show on those days.
As far as today’s edition of The Bettor’s Box, we looked Beyond the Box Score at the weekend performances in the Royals vs. Red Sox series, the Rockies vs. Nationals series, the Cubs vs. the Brewers series, and also the Yankees vs. the Rays. Along the way, Adam touched on some of the transactions made by those teams in advance of the Trade Deadline and also about some long-term projections for those teams.
The Down the Lines segment featured some pretty significant line moves from what has been an anxious weekend for a lot of players. Adam had a few different plays in mind for today’s action, with a team total and a couple of sides that look like decent bets to go against the grain of the market.
This week’s Monday Mailbag featured a couple of questions, one about the Royals, who are not the seller that Adam thought they would be, and also about where to find college football information to get ready for the season. Spoiler alert: right here at BangTheBook.com is a good start!
Finally, a look at the week ahead featured the Indians vs. Red Sox, Cardinals vs. Brewers, and Dodgers vs. Braves under the microscope with some series picks and some additional analysis on those upcoming games.
Join us for this week’s Tuesday Takeover show with Collin Wilson, a tremendous college football handicapper.
