Thursdays are great days for BangTheBook Radio listeners because they represent another edition of The Bettor’s Box. BangTheBook’s MLB betting podcast with host Adam Burke goes in deeper detail than you’re going to find on any other show. If you don’t know that by now through just a few episodes, you’re going to realize it more and more with each passing episode.
On today’s Bettor’s Box, Adam went Beyond the Box Score on three series that just concluded, including the Rangers vs. A’s and also the Pirates vs. Cardinals. He also went Down The Lines to discuss some line moves that have taken place since we were last on the air on Monday with baseball betting analysis. Getting the “why” behind line moves is so important and can have future value in terms of predicting them.
Along with that deep dive into the marketplace, Adam shared his top pick and a secondary pick for tonight’s action. The lines are moving around a little bit today, but this is a good one and Adam provided a lot of good, compelling evidence as to why today’s pick stands out.
He talked a little bit about defensive metrics in today’s sabermetric stat of the day to illustrate the future value that one of the most basic advanced statistics can provide once the sample size is significant enough. Finally, he looked at the week ahead, including an outstanding situational play for Monday night that everybody should circle on the calendar.
Join us on Monday for the next edition of The Bettor’s Box, complete with a Monday Mailbag segment.
