Betting on the Over/Under – West Ham vs. Watford 2/10/2018

Last Updated: 2018-02-09

The English Premier League brings us more action this weekend with the Round 27 matches, so you can check out our betting tips and predictions for the clash between West Ham and Watford at London Stadium set for this Saturday, February 10th, 2018.

After a brilliant 4-1 victory over Chelsea last weekend, Watford is traveling to London this Saturday, February 10th, 2018, to meet West Ham at London Stadium as +200 favorites, while the hosts are set as +150 favorites by the bookmakers. Likewise, this clash should be interesting for those who like betting on goals, as both teams showed us some nice attacking skills recently, and the price on the Over/Under 2.5 Goals is set at -100/-117.

Team News, Updates and Facts

WEST HAM had a true nightmare last weekend when they were easily beaten by Brighton 3-1 on the road. The Hammers took just four shots toward Brighton’s goalkeeper, while they had a ball on their feet for 45% of the time which all led to a convincing defeat. It was their first loss in the previous five Premier League matches along with three draws and a 4-1 victory over Huddersfield on the road. The Hammers are currently in the 12th spot of the Premier League table with 27 points and a 32:46 goal difference, just three points above the relegation zone, so they have to keep with positive results. The manager David Moyes is having huge problems with injuries among the squad, and he’ll be missing Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini for sure, while the striker Andy Carroll is ruled out for at least two months.

On the other side, WATFORD had a difficult start of 2018, as they’ve recorded two draws and two losses in four Premier League matches this year until they met Chelsea last Monday. The Hornets literally blow the Blues up, showing aggressiveness and will to beat the defending champions from the first minute of the game. At the end, they’ve scored four goals to record their first Premier League win in 2018, and now they are laying at the 11th spot of the table with 30 points and a 37:45 goal difference. However, they will need more displays like that one against Chelsea if they want to stay safe and sound in the middle of the table, and the new manager Javi Gracia will have to continue with the hard work. There are minor injuries among his squad, but all key players should be ready for the next game, besides Will Hughes who is still out due to a hamstring injury.

Betting Odds on the Total at BetDSI Sportsbook

Over 2.5 Goals @ -100

Under 2.5 Goals @ -117

Why Bet on the Under?

Both teams are fighting against the relegation, while just three points are separating them at the Premier League table, so you could expect to see a cautious approach at the start of the match. Likewise, seven out of twelve matches at London Stadium were finished in the under, including the previous two tilts when the Hammers have drawn with Crystal Palace (1-1), and Bournemouth (1-1), while the last two Watford’s matches away from home were also ended with less than three goals in the total.

Why Bet on the Over?

West Ham has conceded 46 goals in 26 matches, while Watford has allowed 45 goals thus far which put their defense among the worst in the Premier League. Likewise, 16 out of 26 Watford’s matches were finished in the over, and 15 out of 26 West Ham’s games had more at least three goals in the total, while both sides had more than three goals per game on the average. These two teams combined 69 goals this season, which is 2.6 goals per game on the average, still enough to consider putting your money on the over.

West Ham vs. Watford Over/Under Betting Pick

The hosts have recorded just one win in the last five Premier League rounds, while they are winless for three matches in a row, so I expect to see them attacking from the start in front of the home fans, trying to get the opening goal as soon as possible. On the other side, Watford scored four goals last Monday against Chelsea, so this should be a huge boost for their self-confidence, and I’m pretty sure they will not travel to London to defend a nil-nil draw. If the visitors get the lead, it will open the game, and then we could easily see at least three goals before the end of 90 minutes. Therefore, I’m going with the over in this one.
