The MLB Playoffs are finally here, and there are four Wild Card Series that are set to begin on Tuesday. As a reminder, the higher seeds are the home team in all three games, but a team can actually wrap things up with two wins.
Betting on each individual game in the Wild Card Round is going to be available, or you can also bet on each series before it begins. BetDSI has MLB series prices available, and this is a great chance to cash in.
Here is a brief look at each of the four series set to start on Tuesday, with a pick for each of them included.
Rays Favored Over Rangers
The Tampa Bay Rays are actually the betting favorites over the Texas Rangers in the American League, and it’s a bit shocking to even see these teams matching up. Texas blew a late lead in the AL West Division, and they are now underdogs at +150 (at BetDSI) in this matchup with the Rays.
Tampa Bay appears to have the edge in starting pitching in this series, as they will have Tyler Glasnow set to start the series opener. The Rays have been a great team at home all season long, but they are also missing some key pieces.
That Texas offense is extremely hard to ignore, and that lineup is going to come up with some big hits in this series. Take the upset and bet on Texas at +150 as they find a way to win two games.
Surprising Twins a Favorite
The Minnesota Twins are -120 favorites over at BetDSI in their series against the Toronto Blue Jays, and those odds might seem off at first glance. Toronto is a team that is actually more impressive to watch, but the Blue Jays also seem to go through some long slumps on offense.
MLB Playoff series tend to come down to which team is able to get the most outs, and that is where the Twins have a slight edge in this game. Minnesota was able to set their starting rotation by having the AL Central Division locked up, and that’s going to matter in this matchup.
Toronto is going to win at least one game in this series, but they just haven’t proven that they have what it takes to string a couple of wins together. Going with the Twins at -120 is the right play, but this is going to be a competitive series.
Phillies Looking For Another Run
The Philadelphia Phillies won the National League last season with a thrilling run, and they are back in the postseason and looking for more success. Philadelphia comes into this game with a ton of momentum after a great second half of the year, and they have their pitching staff lined up.
Miami was able to sneak into the postseason as a Wild Card in the National League, and they got that done by winning close games. Unfortunately for the Marlins, they are not playing a team that tends to play in low-scoring affairs.
Philadelphia is a big favorite to win this series at -210, and that’s right where they should be. Bet on the Phillies to win this series in just two games.
Brewers Winning With Pitching
The Milwaukee Brewers are series favorites over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League at -170, or you can get the Arizona Diamondbacks at +150. This is a series that will feature some very good pitching, but the Brewers will have the edge on the mound.
Milwaukee is not a team that has a great offense, and that could create some issues in this matchup. Arizona is coming into this series having lost four straight games, and they need to snap out of their skid in a hurry.
Look for the Diamondbacks to stun the Brewers this week, as Arizona is just too talented on offense. Go with the underdogs at +150, as Arizona will find a way to get the job done.
