Houston Cougars vs. SMU Mustangs

Date/Time: March 13, 2014, 1:00 PM

Game Overview

These two teams finished the regular season in much different fashion. For the Cougars they managed to win four of five games to end the regular season to enter this tournament with momentum. The Mustangs are limping into the American Athletic Conference tournament as losers of the last two games to end out the season. If the Mustangs want to win this game they will have to find a way to stop the 6-7 forward, Danuel House, who combined for 37 points in the two games against the Mustangs this season. The Mustangs are 5-21-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 27 neutral site games and come into this game overvalued. The college basketball odds makers put a hefty line on this game with the resurgence of the SMU basketball program, but Houston is playing well enough to get the outright win.

Utah Utes vs. Arizona Wildcats

Date/Time: March 13, 2014, 3:00 PM

TV: PAC 12 Network

Game Overview

The Arizona Wildcats enter the Pac 12 tournament as the favorite to win it all and with the best chance to go deep in the NCAA Tournament. The Cats have to make sure to not look past the Utes as they have owned them in recent meetings. Utah has lost nine straight to top-seeded Arizona and is currently on the NCAA Tournament bubble. A win over the Wildcats could propel them in the tournament, while a loss can send them to a lower tiered tournament. The Wildcats are overwhelmed with great young talent. Point guard T.J. McConnell was a second-team all-Pac-12 selection and forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was named to the all-freshman team. This team has the depth and the skills to completely dominate this tournament starting with the game against the Utes. The Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five neutral site games and usually turn up the defense in tournament games. This fact is highlighted by a college basketball trend that shows that the under is 15-5-1 in the Wildcats last 21 games that were played on a neutral court. The Utes will keep this game close early, but the Wildcats will pull away with a big win and cover the number in this game.

Free Pick: Arizona Wildcats -7.5
