Week 13 in the NCAAF is the final in the regular season for both these conference rivals when they meet on Friday, November 25, and here you can get the best Bears vs. Longhorns betting pick and odds.

Baylor is hoping to avoid the third loss in a row when they meet Texas at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns are -8.5 favorites on Bovada Sportsbook, while the total is set at 56 points. These Big 12 rivals have met once in 2021, and the Bears won that game 31-24 at home.

Bears nearly handed TCU its first defeat

The Baylor Bears (6-5-0, 7-4-0 ATS) displayed a much better performance after losing to Kansas State 31-3 at home and almost beat the TCU Horned Frogs, but dropped an 8-point lead in the last two minutes and suffered another defeat. Baylor perhaps didn’t deserve to lose as the Bears had more total yards and first downs; however, the Horned Frogs scored a TD with two minutes remaining and then scored a game-winning FG as time expired to get away with a 29-28 victory.

Blake Shapen completed 21 of 30 passes for 269 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Kelsey Johnson caught that lone TD pass from Shapen, but Monaray Baldwin was exceptional in the air as he posted a game-high 123 yards on six receptions. Craig Williams dominated the ground with game-high 112 yards on 19 carries, while Richard Reese and Qualan Jones scored rushing touchdowns. Defensively, Devin Lemear was solid with a game-high nine tackles.

WR Gavin Holmes exited the last game with a leg injury, but it is likely that he will face Texas on Friday.

Longhorns destroyed Kansas on the road

The Texas Longhorns (7-4-0, 7-4-0 ATS) quickly put a home defeat to TCU behind them and responded with a massive 55-14 road victory over the Kansas Jayhawks. Texas scored a season-high 55 points and dominated the game from the start. The Longhorns were way better in total yards (539-346) and first downs (28-15), while they didn’t commit a single turnover and forced one on the other end.

Quinn Ewers completed 12 of 21 passes for 107 yards and one touchdown. However, junior running back Bijan Robinson stole the show with the best game of his career and 243 rushing yards with four touchdowns on 25 carries! That was Robinson’s second 200+ rushing-yard display of the season and the third of his career. Jonathon Brooks was also solid on the ground with 108 yards and two touchdowns on 11 attempts. On defense, Anthony Cook and Morice Blackwell Jr. had six tackles apiece.

RB Roschon Johnson left the previous game with an unknown injury, and it is unclear if he will suit up against Baylor on Friday.

Trends:

Baylor:

  • 1-5 ATS in the last six Friday games
  • 2-12 SU in the last 14 games when playing on the road against Texas

Texas:

  • 5-2 ATS in the last seven home games
  • 7-1 ATS in the last eight games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game

Baylor Bears vs. Texas Longhorns Pick

Baylor did trouble one of four unbeaten teams in the country last week, but the tradition is totally on Texas’ side in this game. The Longhorns beat the Bears in 12 of the previous 14 H2H meetings at home, and I am backing their excellent home defense to prevail and bring another victory to Texas. Texas allowed more than 20 points only once at home this season, and even the Horned Frogs didn’t score more than 17. While Baylor and Texas’s offenses are producing pretty much the same numbers, the Longhorns’ defense is allowing 20.6 points per game opposite the Bears’ 25.5, and that will make a difference on Friday.

Pick: Take the Longhorns at -8.5 (-110)

The Total

Baylor’s defense is not playing well recently; they allowed 23+ points in seven of their last eight games, and I am backing the Longhorns to score at least 30 in this one. Still, that doesn’t mean this game will be high-scoring because none of the previous nine H2H duels went Over. Texas’s defense will keep the visitors in check, and that’s why I am going with a low-scoring tilt. Under is 4-0 in the last four H2H meetings in Texas, while Under is 6-1 in the Longhorns’ previous seven home games.

Pick: Go Under 57.5 points (-130)
