The BangTheBook Radio train left the station for a weeklong trip around the world of sports betting on Monday and we had one of our best shows of the season. We kept chugging down the tracks with this Tuesday edition of the show that featured Alex Nicolas on Conference USA college football and college basketball and Philip Rossman-Reich on the NBA with our esteemed host Adam Burke.
The level of content at BangTheBook.com is unmatched in the sports betting world. Take a look around and you’ll see what we mean. Host Adam Burke just posted his college football power ratings numbers for all of the bowl games. We’ve got terrific daily NHL picks from Parker Michaels. We cover the big stories that you need to know and put a betting spin on them. We’ve got the futures market covered. We are your one-stop shop for sports betting news and information.
As we get deeper into a busy month of December, keep that generous promo code offer from our friends at DSI Sportsbook in mind. Sign up using the code BTB25 to get a $25 free bet to test out the site. Upon your first deposit, you’ll get a 100 percent deposit match bonus for the sportsbook and the same for the live casino. At BetDSI, it’s only a game until you bet it.
Alex Nicolas from Miner Rush, the SB Nation home of the UTEP Miners, has been very busy lately with Tim Floyd’s abrupt retirement. To break up the basketball on today’s show, we saved the college football for the second part of the segment, as Alex talked about the state of UTEP hoops and about the outlook for Conference USA as a whole this season.
Conference USA is well-represented in the bowl games, even with UTSA left out of the postseason with six wins. Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, North Texas, UAB, Southern Miss, and Louisiana Tech are all bowling. The guys talked about their bowl matchups and about how those teams stack up in these games.
Philip Rossman-Reich from Orlando Magic Daily, who also has national bylines at The Step Back and Talking10, joined us to chat some NBA today. The guys hit on several topics, including some of the big home/road record disparities that are out there in the NBA this season. They also isolated some underachievers and overachievers by using some traditional metrics and also some advanced metrics to look for teams to buy low on or sell high on over the next little while.
Advanced metrics aren’t talked about a whole lot for us on this show in terms of the NBA, so Adam and Philip talked a little bit more about those and about how the league is embracing analytics in general to wrap things up for today’s show.
Join us on Wednesday when we chat with Bryan Leonard from WagerTalk.com and also Wes Reynolds for this week’s Wednesday Wagering segment.
