Perhaps the most intriguing NBA game scheduled for Monday, March 6, will be played between these divisional rivals in Miami, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Hawks vs. Heat betting pick and odds.

Atlanta and Miami will meet for the second time in three days at Miami-Dade Arena. The Heat are 3-point favorites on BetDSI Sportsbook, while the total is set at 227 points. These Southeast Division foes will face for the fourth time this season; the Heat lead the series 2-1.

Hawks struggled offensively in Miami

The Atlanta Hawks (32-32, 28-36-0 ATS) opened their four-game road trip with a 117-109 defeat to the Miami Heat. The Hawks will meet Miami again on Monday, after which they will face the Washington Wizards in a back-to-back set. Atlanta trailed by 17 points at halftime against the Heat and although they played better in the second 24 minutes, the Hawks couldn’t avoid a loss. In the end, the perimeter shooting was crucial; the Hawks made nine triples opposite Miami’s 13.

Saddiq Bey led the Hawks with 22 points and two steals. De’Andre Hunter scored 17 points, Clint Capela posted a double-double of 16 points and game-high 13 rebounds, Onyeka Okongwu had 15 points and four boards, Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 13, while Dejounte Murray finished with ten points, five rebounds, and two thefts.

Heat stopped Atlanta’s dynamic duo for the win

The Miami Heat (34-31, 24-39-2 ATS) are not going through their best period of the season; they lost six of the previous eight games but managed to avoid the third loss in a row with a 117-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat are currently on a six-game home stand; following this clash with Atlanta on Monday, they will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in a back-to-back set. Miami completely stopped Atlanta’s two best players – Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, limiting them to 18 combined points and 5-27 from the floor! That, and a strong first-half showing, was enough for the Heat to secure a W. The hosts shot 50.6% from the floor and were better in rebounds (43-37) and assists (31-22).

Bam Adebayo led the Heat with a double-double of 30 points and team-high 11 rebounds along with five assists and two blocks. Tyler Herro had a 20/6/5 line, Jimmy Butler recorded a double-double of 15 points and 11 boards with a team-high seven dishes and two steals, while Caleb Martin and Cody Zeller combined for 28 points.

PG Kyle Lowry (knee), C Omer Yurtseven (ankle), and F Nikola Jovic (back) are out indefinitely and will not play on Monday against the Hawks.

Trends:

Atlanta:

  • 6-2 ATS in the last eight games following a straight-up loss

Miami:

  • 3-10 ATS in the last 13 games overall
  • 1-6 ATS in the last seven home games
  • 1-7 ATS in the last eight games playing on one day of rest
  • 5-21-1 ATS in the last 27 games following an ATS win

Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat Pick

The Heat are going through their worst period of the season and I don’t think they can beat the Hawks twice in three days. After combining for miserable 18 points, I am backing Trae Young and Dejounte Murray to bounce back here and combine for 40+ in a victory. It’s not going to be easy against the second-best defense in the NBA that allows 108.8 points per game, but I seriously doubt Young and Murray will flop again. Atlanta has a top-10 offense that averages 117.0 ppg and I think the visitors will prevail here. They will at least cover.

Pick: Take the Hawks at +4.5 (-130)

The Total

The rivals combined for 226 points a couple of nights ago and I expect a similar scenario when it comes to points. Considering I believe that Young and Murray will show a much better performance on Monday, it’s natural to expect more buckets from the visitors. It’s always tricky to bet on Over when Miami is playing, given the Heat have the worst offense in the league that averages 108.1 ppg, but Atlanta should do its part. The total has gone Over in five of Atlanta’s last six games against the Southeast Division opponents.

Pick: Go Over 225.5 points (-130)
