We have a six-game slate in the NHL scheduled for Monday, February 6, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Ducks vs. Stars betting pick and odds.

Anaheim is searching for the fourth win in a row, while Dallas is desperate to avoid the fourth consecutive defeat when they meet at American Airlines Center. The Stars are massive -335 moneyline favorites on MyBookie Sportsbook, while the total is set at 6 goals. These Western Conference rivals will meet for the third time this season; the series is tied at 1-1.

Ducks snatched an OT win over Arizona

The Anaheim Ducks (16-29-3-2, 22-28 ATS) are playing their best hockey of the season; they won each of the previous three games, which is their longest winning streak this year. After concluding a six-game road trip with a couple of wins over the Coyotes and Avalanche, the Ducks beat the Arizona Coyotes 2-1 in overtime at home. Anaheim will return on the road for the next two games. Thanks to those three straight victories, the Ducks escaped from the Western Conference bottom.

Anaheim trailed 1-0 to the Coyotes before Max Jones tied the score and the game went to overtime. Trevor Zegras then scored a winner for the hosts, who deserved to get a W as they attempted 45 shots opposite Arizona’s 34. For the season, the Ducks have just two players among the top 100 in the NHL when it comes to points. Trevor Zegras (G 18, A 24) and Troy Terry (G 13, A 29) lead the team with 42 points each.

John Gibson (10-20-4) is slated to start at the goal against Dallas on Monday. The 29-year-old is surrendering 3.96 goals per game this year with a .898 SV% and one shutout.

C Derek Grant (lower body), LW Justin Kirkland (undisclosed), C Isac Lundestrom (finger), and D Jamie Drysdale (shoulder) are out indefinitely. D Kevin Shattenkirk (lower body) is questionable to play on Monday against Dallas.

Stars suffered another OT loss

The Dallas Stars (28-13-8-2, 29-22 ATS) suffered three consecutive defeats for the first time this season, but interestingly, each of those losses came in overtime and each by identical 3-2 result. The Stars lost to Buffalo, Carolina, and New Jersey, but are still atop the Western Conference with 66 points, a point ahead of the Winnipeg Jets. Dallas is amid an eight-game homestay; after this duel with Anaheim, the Stars will welcome Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and Boston.

The Stars were 2-0 up after the opening period against the Devils thanks to goals from Ty Dellandrea and Roope Hintz, but the visitors responded with a pair of quick goals in the second period and then scored a winner in overtime. This year, Jason Robertson is the Stars’ most valuable player with 66 points (G 33, A 33). Joe Pavelski has 48 (G 14, A 34) and Roope Hintz contributes 46 points (G 20, A 26).

Jake Oettinger (21-7-7) is the expected goaltender for Dallas against Anaheim on Monday. The 24-year-old is allowing 2.26 goals per contest this season with a .923 SV% and four shutouts.

Trends:

Anaheim:

  • 4-1 in the last five games
  • 5-1 in the last six games against the Western Conference rivals

Dallas:

  • 1-4 in the last five home games
  • 0-4 in the last four after scoring two goals or less in their previous game

Anaheim Ducks vs. Dallas Stars Pick

In some other circumstances, I’d back Dallas to win this one comfortably. However, the Stars are going through their worst period of the campaign, while Anaheim is playing its best hockey of the year, so I am backing the visitors to at least cover the puck line on Monday. The Ducks do have the worst defense and offense in the NHL, but Dallas scored just two goals in each of the last three games, which is Anaheim’s chance here. Even if the visitors lose, I am backing them to put up a fight – another OT is also a possibility.

Pick: Take the Ducks at +1.5 Puck Line (+117)

The Total

Interestingly, only one team scored in two H2H duels this season. Dallas won 5-0 at home, while the Ducks won 2-0 in Anaheim, but I don’t think we will have such a scenario in this one. Still, I don’t expect many goals, considering the Ducks are scoring 2.44 goals per game and Dallas’ recent offensive struggles. Under is 6-1 in the last seven H2H meetings; Under is 19-6-1 in the Stars’ previous 26 overall, while Under is 4-0 in Dallas’ last four home games.

Pick: Go Under 6 goals (-110)
