The NHL betting action goes on Friday, April 1, 2022, with the Western Conference battle from Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, so we have prepared the best Ducks vs. Coyotes betting pick along with the latest odds update on Bookmaker Sportsbook

Anaheim and Arizona wrap up their three-game regular-season series after splitting their previous two encounters. Back in November, the Ducks beat the Coyotes 3-1 as -170 home favorites, while Arizona responded with a 6-5 overtime victory as a massive +255 road underdog in December.

The Ducks play without rest

The Anaheim Ducks face off against the Yotes on the second day of a back-to-back set. Their Thursday night’s clash against the Dallas Stars at home has been excluded from the analysis, and the Ducks were trying to put an end to their horrible ten-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, the Ducks also hosted Dallas and suffered a 3-2 defeat. John Gibson posted 29 saves, but it wasn’t enough, as the Stars scored twice in the third quarter to erase a 2-1 deficit.

Gibson (3.09 GAA, .904 SV%) fell to 17-22-9 on the season. He was expected to patrol the crease Thursday against the Stars, while Anthony Stolarz was projected to guard the cage Friday against Arizona. Stolarz is 9-6-2 with a 2.66 GAA and .919 save percentage, and the 28-year-old netminder has emerged victorious in three of his previous five starts.

The Yotes just snapped their six-game skid

The Arizona Coyotes (21-41-5) are coming off a 5-2 home victory to the San Jose Sharks this past Wednesday. Playing as +140 moneyline underdogs, the Yotes managed to put an end to their six-game losing streak.

San Jose outshot Arizona 41-24, but the Coyotes scored three unanswered goals in the third period. Winger Jan Jenik accounted for a couple goals, his first two in 2021-22, while a fellow winger Phil Kessell posted a pair of dishes.

Karel Vejmelka turned 39 shots aside against the Sharks, improving to 11-26-2 on the season. He owns a 3.38 GAA and .906 save percentage. The Coyotes surrender 3.55 goals per game (28th in the NHL) and score 2.57 in a return (31st).

Trends:

Anaheim:

  • 0-6 in the last six games on the road
  • 2-13 in the last 15 games overall

Arizona:

  • 7-2 in the last nine games against Anaheim

Anaheim Ducks vs. Arizona Coyotes Pick

The Coyotes are already out of the playoff contention, while the Ducks are in dire straits following their awful run of form and ten losses in a row. I lean the Yotes to take advantage of the home ice, but this game could easily go either way, and the best move is to stay far away from it.

The Ducks have been a complete disaster in March. On the other side, the Coyotes have won seven of their previous 14 games overall. Arizona has dominated Anaheim over the last couple of years, going 7-2 in their previous nine encounters.

Pick: Take Arizona Coyotes

The Total:

Anaheim is scoring only 2.75 goals per game (23rd in the NHL). Over their previous five outings, the Ducks have accounted for only eight goals, and three of those five contests have produced fewer than six goals in total.

On the other side, the Coyotes have scored more than a couple of goals only once in their previous seven outings at any location. Still, five of those seven tilts have produced six or more goals in total. I lean the under this time around, expecting both Arizona and Anaheim to struggle on the offensive end.

Pick: Go under
