The U.S. Open is thought to be a little more wide-open on the women’s side than the men’s, as there are eight players at odds of 20-to-1, or lower, which is a direct contrast to the men, where there are just four. Serena Williams will enter the tournament as the favorite, but as the odds indicate, she’s not going to have a walk in the part as she tries to claim her seventh Open title, but her first since 2014.

Last years champion, Naomi Osaka, is tied for having the third-lowest odds, along with Madison Keys, who took a pretty big odds drop all the way down to +1200. A pair of former champions in  Angelique Kerber and Sloane Stephens are both offering pretty decent odds, with Kerber dropping down to +2000 and Stephens falling all the way down to +3300.

Another former champion, Venus Williams, is now at 100-to-1 odds, but she hasn’t won since 2001 and her odds are basically that high due to her past accomplishments. After winning in 2001 she lost to Serena in the finals in 2002 and hasn’t reached that far ever since. Simona Halep is firmly entrenched at No. 2 in the odds at +800, which is up a bit from the +700 she was at on Aug. 6.

The majority of players saw an odds increase since our first look at the U.S. Open odds, which is never a bad thing for bettors.

A win by Serena will move her past Chris Evert into a tie for the No. 2 spot in Open championships. Helen Wills Moody has seven titles to her name and Molla Bjurstedt Mallory is the all-time leader with eight.

The odds on Serena are a bit tempting, but last year’s loss in the finals was the only time in the last four years that she’s reached that far, so it will be a battle. Still, you have to respect her whenever she walks out on the court.

One of the last three runner-ups is offering some decent odds in Karolina Pliskova (+1400), while a couple of familiar names in Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova are +8000 and +10000, respectively.

The women’s tournament begins Aug. 26, just as the men’s tournament does, and will wind-up a day earlier on Sept. 7.

Following are the odds at 5Dimes as of Aug. 23:
