2013 Pac-12 Basketball Tournament Odds Picks and Preview

2013 Pac-12 Basketball Tournament

The Pac-12 has made extraordinarily strides from a season ago. This ever expanding and improving conference went from an average college basketball conference to a slew of teams ready to compete for national championship.

As they prepare for the Pac-12 conference tournament they boast five teams with double digit wins in conference and four teams that rank in the Top 25 of the college basketball rankings. This glitzy tournament will be held under the bright lights of Las Vegas as the MGM grand will host the tournament at the Garden Arena.

2013 Pac-12 Basketball TournamentThe first round will start on March 13th spilling over to the quarterfinals on March 14th and the semifinals on March 15th. The championship game of the Pac-12 conference tournament will play on March 16th. The regular season champion from a year ago is the Washington Huskies, but the conference champion from a year ago is the Colorado Buffaloes.

Heading into the 2013 Pac-12 conference championship, things have changed drastically. The Washington Huskies have just nine wins in conference and are a longshot at (+1500) to win the tournament. There is a new crop of teams that are the favorites to win the title in 2013.

The Arizona Wildcats (+280) and the UCLA Bruins (+220) both lead the way as co-favorites to win the Pac-12 post season title. The Oregon Ducks (+400) and the California Golden Bears (+400) follow closely behind as teams that have a chance to cut down the nets in this ultra-competitive tourney.

This conference has become so tight that there is more than one sleeper in 2013. Arizona State (+600) and Stanford Cardinal (+700) both get consideration for sleepers, but the one true team to watch for a surprise in this tournament is Colorado (+500). The Buffaloes are defending champions, have posted 20 wins this season and have an impressive resume. They swept Oregon and defeated Arizona and that means this team is for real.

Colorado is a genuine sleeper but our pick to win this tournament is California. The Bears have big wins against quality teams and are riding a hot streak. With great odds the California Golden Bears are our pick to win the Pac-12 Conference tournament.
