North Carolina State earned a 24-23 victory over Ga Southern on Saturday in Week 1 action at Carter-Finley Stadium.

The Wolfpack won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -20.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Jacoby Brissett completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 291 yards for the Wolfpack in the win.

Kevin Ellison rushed for 116 yards for Ga Southern, while Matt Breida added 87 yards. Kevin Ellison threw for 184 yards for the Eagles, while receivers Zach Walker and Kentrellis Showers had 84 and 59 yards respectively.

Ga Southern was outgained by North Carolina State 464-438 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-18 by the Wolfpack.

The time of possession battle favored Ga Southern as their offense was on the field for 32:27, longer than the 27:33 of their opponents.
