Taylor Heinicke's 533-yard performance through the air was the key in Old Dominion's 59-38 win over Idaho on Saturday at Kibbie Dome.
The Monarchs were a 14-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 71.5.
Colby Goodwyn rushed for 36 yards, while Cam Boyd added 32 yards in the win. Marquel Thomas and Antonio Vaughan added 137 and 103 receiving yards respectively.
James Baker rushed for 57 yards for Idaho, while Richard Montgomery added 44 yards. Taylor Davis threw for 308 yards for the Vandals, while receivers Dezmon Epps and James Baker had 175 and 73 yards respectively.
Idaho lost the offensive yardage battle to Old Dominion 621-505 yards in Saturday's game. Old Dominion had more first downs as that total ended up 28-27.
The time of possession battle favored Old Dominion as their offense was on the field for 30:03, longer than the 29:57 of their opponents.
Next game, Old Dominion takes its act on the road to face North Carolina looking for another win. For Idaho, they head on the road to face Florida State.
