Kyle Pohl completed 18 of 29 pass attempts for 259 yards for the Zips in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Kareem Hunt rushed for 103 yards for Toledo, while Marc Remy added 103 yards. Terrance Owens threw for 158 yards for the Rockets, while receivers Alonzo Russell and Bernard Reedy had 57 and 41 yards respectively.
Akron lost the offensive yardage battle to Toledo 388-344 yards in Friday's game. Toledo had more first downs as that total ended up 26-22.
Akron lost the time of possession battle 30:59/29:01, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
