Jaquez Johnson rushed for 79 yards, while Jay Warren added 61 yards in the win. Daniel McKinney and Lucky Whitehead added 138 and 64 receiving yards respectively.
Xavier Hall rushed for 74 yards for New Mexico State, while Germi Morrison added 34 yards. Andrew McDonald threw for 136 yards for the Aggies, while receivers Austin Franklin and Joseph Matthews had 58 and 30 yards respectively.
New Mexico State lost the offensive yardage battle to Florida Atlantic 585-278 yards in Saturday's game. Florida Atlantic had more first downs as that total ended up 23-15.
The time of possession battle favored New Mexico State as their offense was on the field for 30:28, longer than the 29:32 of their opponents.
