Jordan Lynch scampered through the Toledo defense for 161 yards as Northern Illinois handed the Rockets a 35-17 defeat on Wednesday at Glass Bowl.

Northern Illinois won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 2-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 73.5.

Jordan Lynch completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for 202 yards for the Huskies in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.

Kareem Hunt rushed for 91 yards for Toledo, while David Fluellen added 54 yards. Terrance Owens threw for 235 yards for the Rockets, while receivers Alonzo Russell and Bernard Reedy had 100 and 63 yards respectively.

Toledo was outgained by Northern Illinois 566-419 yards in Wednesday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 29-24 by the Huskies.

Northern Illinois led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:18/29:42 split in that important category.

Northern Illinois looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Western Michigan. Toledo will aim to get back on the winning track at Akron.
