Rice got a 215-yard performance from Charles Ross as a key part of its 52-14 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday at Rice Stadium.
The Owls were a 14.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 51.5.
Taylor McHargue completed 13 of 23 pass attempts for 167 yards for the Owls in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Tevin King rushed for 43 yards for Louisiana Tech, while Nick Thomason added 32 yards. Ryan Higgins threw for 138 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Sterling Griffin and Richie Casey had 80 and 24 yards respectively.
Louisiana Tech was outgained by Rice 582-327 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 35-14 by the Owls.
The time of possession battle favored Rice as their offense was on the field for 40:15, longer than the 19:45 of their opponents.
Next game, Rice takes its act on the road to face UAB looking for another win. For Louisiana Tech, they head home to face Tulsa.
