Jordan Lynch sliced and diced the Cardinals defense for 345 yards as Northern Illinois handed Ball State a 48-27 defeat on Wednesday at Huskie Stadium.
Northern Illinois won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 8.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 73.5.
Jordan Lynch rushed for 123 yards, while Tommylee Lewis added 34 yards in the win. Da'Ron Brown and Tommylee Lewis added 209 and 71 receiving yards respectively.
Jahwan Edwards rushed for 156 yards for Ball State, while Keith Wenning added 9 yards. Keith Wenning threw for 324 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers Willie Snead and Zane Fakes had 121 and 96 yards respectively.
Ball State lost the offensive yardage battle to Northern Illinois 569-494 yards in Wednesday's game. Ball State had more first downs as that total ended up 29-28.
The time of possession battle favored Ball State as their offense was on the field for 33:13, longer than the 26:47 of their opponents.
Northern Illinois heads into a Week 13 battle against Toledo. Ball State, meanwhile, will have their next action against Miami (Ohio).
