Hi Kim and welcome to the forum! During baseball season I like to make my plays based upon pitching matchups and their last few outings, the lineups teams are going to put out there, and it never hurts to take a look at the injury reports and venues. If you are betting on a favorite who lets say is a -120, it means you are risking $120 to win $100. If you take the underdog who in most cases would be even money, you would be putting up $100, or the same amount you bet to win $100. You can also bet parlays where if you hit several teams you can hit for better odds. There are all different kinds of combinations and wagers you can bet with when it comes to baseball or any other sport.
Here at BTB we have trackers that monitor your year to date units won and lost as well as your won and lost record. Plus we have several fun and profitable sponsored contests the founder and owner 'btb' aka 'Ryan' is running on a daily basis where at the end of the month you can be eligible for prizes based on the op best records. We also have a streaker contest where if you hit a minimum of 6 plays you can earn capper points. If you hit 7 straight you are eligible for a free play prize. Because these contests are sponsored by bookmaker and Diamond Sports International (DSI) it would be wise to open up an online account so you can take advantage when you win! You can also earn bet points if you play there which you can use as freeplay cash once you hit a certain amount.
I'm sure some of the other veteran cappers and mods will chime in with other useful information as you become familiar with the site. Hope you enjoy and best of luck!
Hey Kim ditto greek's welcome! Start small and bet the same amount for each game. You WILL go on losing streaks so it's best to keep your bets to 1-2% of your bankroll at most...we have some good cappers on this site so watch the picks monitor and the posts if you want to follow along...hope you're able to stick around and please keep posting questions if you got 'em!
Welcome Kim. Same as above, Jimmy did a great job explaining. Always willing to answer any questions that you have also. I learn something new or try different strategies every day. I would also stress what finance says in that you should not get discouraged... The best Capper's and bettors out there usually hover between 54-58%, so they are still losing 42-46% of the time. Good luck!
Welcome. Just a couple of very worthwhile tips;
1) Gambling is a marathon, not a sprint
2) It is a hobby, a diversion, a game. It is not a means to pay the mortgage(or even the car payment) with.
3)Try not to chase.
4) And, finally, as in life, when something looks too good to be true, it usually is.
5) Keep good records.
6) Sometimes there are teams that you just can't win with, betting with or against. Learn to avoid them.........it's just "one of those things."
Gl with your new hobby.
